Being part of the Falck group of companies has provided Falck Safety Services with significant benefits in the expanding wind power business sector. In November 2011, we officially launched our industrial training unit in Teesside, which has state-of-the-art facilities to cater for offshore wind farm safety training. We are now leading from the front in providing dedicated safety training for the wind and renewable sectors.
The aims of this course are, by theoretical and practical training, to give the participants the
basic knowledge and skills to act safely and take the correct preventive actions in all aspects of
offshore operations from shore to vessel or Wind Turbine Generator (WTG), and vice versa;
both during normal operations and in a given emergency in an offshore wind energy
environment
Content:-
Knowledge of dangers and symptoms in relation to hypothermia and drowning.
Understanding of the advantages and limitations of the different Life Saving Appliances, PPE
and PFPE commonly used offshore in the wind energy industry and the ability to don and use
them accordingly.

Knowledge of the emergency and safety procedures on installations, vessels and WTG.
Knowledge of Search and Rescue and Global Maritime Distress Safety System.
Recovery and first aid treatment of a man over board
Evacuation from WTG to water by means of Constant Rate Descender
Individual and collective survival techniques at sea.
On successful completion of the course content, delegates will be awarded a GWO Approved
Sea Survival Certificate which is valid for 48 months
