WHO IS THE COURSE FOR ?
This qualification is designed principally for people with supervisory responsibilities working in the catering and hospitality industries, and others who are in a position to promote healthy nutrition. It is also relevant for individuals working in the health, caring or teaching professions who might have a role in the promotion of healthy eating or the preparation of meals, menus and diets.

COURSE PROGAMME
The qualification is divided into one units: Principles of Nutrition.
Principles of Nutrition:
- Nutrient requirements: definitions, dietary reference values, major food sources, the effects of processing, cooking & storage.
- Their role in maintaining health: physiological requirements, beneficial and detrimental effects.
ASSESSMENT
The course is assessed via two course work assignments completed after the course.
