Ethics and Values in Social Care

Questions of ethics and values are generally everywhere in life. We all have our views as to what is important, what is right and what is wrong. No one comes to this topic as a beginner. However, in everyday life we are not necessarily always required to examine our values.

Questions to do with ethics and values are everywhere in social work. This course is an introduction to the topic, but new questions and dilemmas related to ethics and values will arise in every aspect of practice, and in every piece of work you undertake as a social worker.

There is no experience or previous qualifications required for enrolment on this course. It is available to all students, of all academic backgrounds.

Study Hours

This is only an approximate figure and is dependant upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material. Furthermore, at the end of each lesson there is a question paper that needs to be completed and returned to your tutor. You should allow at least 1 - 2 hours of study to complete each question paper.

The approximate amount of time required to complete the course is: 150 hrs.
