The IOSH Working Safely course is a basic introduction for all levels of personnel who are non-health and safety experts. The training will give staff the information they need to keep themselves safe at work.

- identify hazards, risks and risk controls and understand the importance of risk assessment with examples of everyday use of risk assessment
- take appropriate workplace precautions and understand their importance in the work environment
- appreciate the importance of a health and safety management system
- identify lines of communication in their places of work
- identify safety signs and signals
- understand emergency and accident plans and procedures
- know how and to whom to report accidents, incidents and near misses in their places of work
- recognise how industry affects the environment and how individuals can minimise pollution and waste
