The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) 2002 requires every employer to identify substances in use at the workplace and to assess whether they present a risk. Such assessments must be recorded and any risks must be prevented or controlled.
The subject of COSHH often gives rise to concerns by those responsible for its implementation yet, for most basic work activities, COSHH is not, and does not need to be, overly complicated.
