What's involved This course is studied full-time, over four years. It will involve lectures, tutorials and independent study, both here and at one of our partner institutions abroad. You will study at least one language from a choice of French, German, Spanish or English as a Foreign Language throughout your degree, and depending on other subject choices you will have the opportunity to study one or more further languages. The course is designed to offer you maximum flexibility in your choice of language and business combinations.You will be advised on the wide range of options available. Below is an indication of the modules you could study. These will be supplemented with choices from a course-specific option pool: Year 1 Language; Behavioural Studies; Intercultural Organisational Management Year 2 Language; Introduction to HRM; Exploring Culture Year 3 Language; Managing the Employment Relationship, or Organisational Change Management; plus either approved Study Abroad or EFL and option modules Note: Study Abroad is compulsory for all students studying French, German or Spanish as their main language and will take place in a country in which this language is spoken. Students whose main language is English as a Foreign Language may, with the agreement of the Programme Leader, elect to remain in the University during the Study Abroad period and study the appropriate EFL module plus option modules Year 4 Dissertation; Language; Communication in International Management; Contemporary Issues in HRM Note on Language Modules: The main language must be studied throughout the programme, and students must achieve level 10 by the end of Year 4 In exceptional cases only, students may choose to study one language as their main language in years 1 and 2, and a second language as their main language in years 3 and 4, providing they meet the criterion of reaching level 10 in the language by the end of Year 4
