With an emphasis on sustainable development principles and practice, the course takes an industry-focused approach, with particular application to the water sector, property development and building design. You'll also study national and international environmental legal principles, opening the door to a possible career in sustainability-based projects worldwide. You'll graduate with the ability to analyse and plan environmental sustainability solutions, particularly relating to water, building and property. What's involved Based over one year, the course will involve lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions and independent study. This course can also be studied part-time. Trimester 1 Sustainability and Environment, Environmental Law, Sustainable Building Design Trimester 2 Waste Management, Integrated Management Systems, choice of: Sustainable Urban Property Development, Sustainable Water Resources Management On completion of Trimester 1 you will be eligible for a Postgraduate Certificate. Requirements at a glanceEntry to the courseYou'll require a recognised honours degree (or other qualification at equivalent level), or a lower level qualification and appropriate experience. This course is broad based and targeted at a diverse student body, including civil engineers, electrical engineers, building services engineers, mechanical engineers, architects, architectural technologists, quantity surveyors, lawyers, accountants, estate managers, etc. Candidates with a background in the social sciences seeking to gain an understanding of sustainable development are encouraged to apply.Fees Table2012/3 2013/4 Scotland £3,750 £3,750 European Union £3,750 £3,750 Rest of UK £3,750 £3,750 Overseas £10,350 £10,760 Fees displayed are correct at the time of publication but the University Court reserves the right to make changes in fees at any time, and without notice, before or after the student's admission to the University.Tuition fees are reviewed annually and will rise each year during your programme of study, at least in line with inflation.
