This Masters degree in Advanced Networking offers you the opportunity to develop and extend your knowledge of the design and implementation of computer networks. The course blends hands-on technical knowledge with theoretical understanding, utilising our well-equipped labs which provide you with direct access to advanced routers, switches, service provider emulators, VoIP telephony systems, and wireless devices. You will learn the techniques associated with current networking practices, enabling you to develop and implement effective systems. You will also be instructed in leading-edge network research and provided with the techniques to constantly extend and update your knowledge and thinking on networking theory, practice, and research, allowing you to keep up to date well into your future networking career. The course blends postgraduate level understanding with significant elements of Cisco CCNA, CCNP, and Cisco security curriculums. This certification coverage offers you a strong basis for you to extend your CV by obtaining related Cisco Certifications. The Cisco certification exams themselves are not included in the MSc course, but your studies will provide good preparation for obtaining these qualifications, and you will be provided with additional support from qualified CCNP Cisco Certified Academy Instructors if you wish to become Cisco certified. You'll learn the techniques associated with current computer networking practices, enabling you to develop and implement effective systems. What's involved This is a part-time course studied for up to two and a half years, with one or two modules studied per trimester, and will involve lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions and independent study. While classes for each module may account for only three or four hours a week, you'll be expected to commit at least 13 hours per week per module. This course can also be studied full-time.
