Our trainers are all successful public speakers, including National public speaking prize winners and UK speech champions. This is coupled with years of experience training and coaching in fields as diverse as Sales, IT and project management. This means all coaching and advice is based on current 'live' practical experience, and all hints and tips are based on solid, up to date experience of what really works.
Qualifications
'College of Public Speaking is unique in offering nationally accredited qualifications'.
Many people take our Public Speaking Training simply to improve their confidence and ability to present. However many others realise that having a recognised qualification, whether as a presenter or as a trainer gives extra assurance to any potential employer or client. This is why we offer a BTEC Advanced Level Award in 'Public Speaking and Presentations' and a BTEC Professional Award in 'Training the Trainer'. BTEC awards are nationally administered by Edexcel, and as such are recognised across the UK as a benchmark for practical skills in job competencies.
Commited to excellence, all senior trainers at the College of Public Speaking are undergoing a programme of attaining the Chartered Institute of Professional Development Certified Trainer Practitioner qualification from September 2009.

We place the core principles of public speaking at the heart of all our training programmes, because we recognise how important delivery is in putting across any message. We believe that if you can think on your feet you will think better sitting down; if you can engage a group of people, you will be more convincing one to one and confident communication skills will make you appear more relaxed and competent in all situations.

"I attended this course because I had in the past always done my best to avoid presenting as much as I could. I got incredibly nervous before and during presentations and focused solely on just getting through them. As I have become more senior in my career and now have to speak regularly in front of large numbers of people, I realised I could continue to dread public speaking or I could confront my fears and at some point in the future (hopefully) actually enjoy it! This was the first step and the course included lots of useful tips, and I found watching myself on video particularly helpful.
