Health and Safety in the Workplace: FAA Level 2 Award

This is an excellent introduction to health and safety in the workplace. The training benefits all employees but if you want to hold a health and safety role, such as safety representative, at your place of work then it’s especially useful.
The health and safety training in this course is delivered by City of Oxford College at the Blackbird Leys campus.
A range of subjects is covered, including:
• the roles and responsibilities for health, safety and welfare in the workplace
• the value and process of risk assessments
• the identification and control of workplace hazards
• how to respond to workplace incidents and accidents

Teaching and learning is by workbook quizzes and tests, group work
and powerpoint presentations.
Assessment is on-going by the instructor, culminating with a
multiple-choice question paper. This is a lifetime qualification,
although refresher training is always recommended.
You gain skills and knowledge in health safety and welfare
standards in the workplace, how to control hazards and risks in the
workplace, and the causes of poor health and safety in the
workplace.
The qualification awarded is the FAA Level 2 Award in Health and
Safety in the workplace (QCF).
To do this course you need:
• a good level of English literacy and language
• good verbal and written communication skills
You will need a notepad and pen on the day as well.
