Learning is through a series of self-initiated projects which
encourage you to explore a variety of ceramic processes and
techniques. This is a practical course with group and individual
demonstrations. All practice is supported by theory and technical
information.
You develop your technical skills and creativity to encompass new processes and applications, producing a portfolio of work and a skill set suitable for self employment or progression to higher education.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course but you will need a good understanding of ceramics and the creative possibilities it offers. You wll also have the desire to explore higher-level techniques within this discipline.
You may wish to re-enrol for additional terms to gain further experience in making more complex pieces. Why not look at our other creative arts programmes?
All learning takes place in our fully-equipped workshops. Throughout the year we have visits to working potteries and exhibitions.
