About This Course:

This course is ideal for people who want to progress their career, prove their job competence, or for personal development. It’s suitable for a range of job roles including purchasing or contract manager, inventory controller, assistant buyer, category manager, logistics manager or expeditor. The course is overseen by the Sector Skills Council and Skills for Logistics.

What You Need:
  • Ideally you’ll have supervisory or managerial experience. You should have at least 3 years’ experience at a senior level, solid writing skills, deal with complex issues and possess good numeracy skills.
  • You are likely to work at a strategic management level within your organisation.

More Information

What You Study:

You need to complete 10 of the available 31 units including the 5 mandatory units and 5 from the remaining 26 units. The mandatory units are:

  • Develop Operational Relationships within the Supply Chain
  • Evaluate Information on the Supply Chain
  • Propose Improvements to the Supply Chain
  • Introduce Improvements to the Supply Chain
  • Provide Leadership in Your Area of procurement.
After The Course:

You can apply to the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) to gain full MCIPS qualification. You’ll also need to supply CIPS with information about your experience, CV and qualifications.

Dates:

This distance learning course normally lasts 1 year, but it is flexible.
