About This Course:This E-Learning based qualification provides an introduction to and explanation of the concepts of purchasing with an emphasis on the practical aspects of the purchasing role.
The course contains 20 hours of directed, web based study. If you want to obtain the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply’s (CIPS) Certificate you must complete a one hour multiple choice examination.
What You Need:You don’t need any formal qualifications but should have some relevant work experience and the relevant literacy and numeracy skills.

What You Study:The Introductory Certificate consists of four elements: The Role and Scope of Purchasing, Systems and Procedures in Purchasing, Working with Suppliers, and The Importance of Purchasing Contracts.
After The Course:On completion you’ll be able to use the language and terminology of professional purchasers confidently, demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the purchasing process, and make credible assessments of the tactical options available within a defined purchasing process.
You can progress to the CIPS Level 4 Foundation Diploma.
