Throughout the course you will study visual recording in art and design, ideas and concepts and communication. You will also look at current styles and fashions and how they affect the fashion industry. Throughout the course you will develop your style and create a portfolio of work. You will be based in our new, airy and creative centre for fashion, the Fusion Centre which is ideally located only a few minutes walk from the Bullring and the famous Birmingham RAG Markets. You will learn from tutors who have worked in the fashion and textiles industry and they will help you develop a real understanding of professional working practices within the fashion industry. Fashion students get involved in many fashion shows and events both within the college and throughout the city. You will be able to have your garments walked down the catwalk at our sell-out end of year fashion show and take part in our Rags to Riches competition in conjunction with the Birmingham Rag Markets and Harvey Nichols.Key Areas

What next
You can progress on to the HND in Fashion at the college or another higher education course at a university in a related subject such as fashion design, footwear design or costume design.
