Summary:

This course has been developed by BTEC to provide a nationally recognised and vocationally specific qualification with which to enter employment or to progress to higher education such as a degree in business and/or management or an associated specialist field.

This qualification is equivalent to 3 A levels and provides the added opportunity of working with employers in the development of your knowledge and skills as part of the National Skills Academy for Financial Services. You will gain two qualifications - the BTEC Diploma in Business together with the BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Personal and Business Finance.

5 GCSEs grades A-C including English (and Maths at minimum D grade). Achievement at Merit grade for progression from BTEC L2/First Diploma.

Assessment:

Course work through a variety of assessment methods including assignments, presentation, reports, observations and discussion. You will achieve either a Pass, Merit or Distinction for each unit and the overall grade for the course will be assessed on the level of achievement in all units. If you perform exceptionally throughout the course you will be awarded a Distinction.

To further study eg degree or professional qualification or to employment and part time study

Ø Mandatory Units include Business Environment, Business Resources, Intro to Marketing, Business CommunicationØ Additional Units include Business Accounts, Creative Product Promotion, Internet Marketing, Managing Business Event, Developing Teams, Website Design, Starting and Small Business and Business Ethics
Ø Personal and Business Finance units include Financial Services for Individuals and Business, Finance in the National Economy and Financial Regulations and Trends
