Full TimeThe course has both theory and practical parts which will
prepare you for work in Construction. You will learn:
- Health & Safety Techniques
- Operating Methods & Structure of the Industry
- Sustainability
- Construction Mathematical Techniques
- Drawing Methods
- Introduction to practical multi skill subjects such as
Painting, Carpentry and Brickwork
-Introduction to Employment
-Introduction to BIM
Essential skills sessions will also be provided to support and develop numeracy and literacy skills.

How you will gain the qualification
Assessment is continuous throughout the course, both by practical tests and theory assessments. The candidate will produce a portfolio of evidence, which is internally and externally verified and can contain case studies, assignments, photographic evidence, presentations etc.
What qualifications you need
Applicants are required to have achieved at least 4 GCSEs at
grades A* to D including Maths and English or successful completion
of a relevant Level 1 qualification or experience. You will be
required to attend an interview with the Course Tutor.
Candidates will need to provide suitable clothing and safety footwear for practical workshop sessions. Stationery equipment and materials will also be required.
Where to next
Candidates can progress to Level 3 Construction and Built Environment or into a specific trade of your choice at Level 1.
