LEVEL 1 DIPLOMA IN FABRICATION & WELDING
This is a practical course and you will gain the skills to become a welder, sheet metal worker or fabricator. You will develop a range of skills in metal fabrication, engineering drawing and a range of welding techniques as well as health & safety. This course also includes the City and Guilds 2850 Engineering Level 1 course.
How you will gain the qualification
Practical activities will be assessed in a realistic working environment. Knowledge will be tested by short written question and answer assignments. Essential skills in Communications, Application of Number and ICT form part of this qualification.

Where to next
You can progress to Performing Engineering Operations Level 2 or
an apprenticeship in the Fabricating and Welding Industry.
It is recommended that learners without GCSE grades A*-C in Maths & English re-take these to support their progression.
