Introduction to DIY Skills

This course is designed to introduce you to the skills and tools required to carry out basic home maintenance. The course is pretty flexible and if there is any particular aspect you would like to have covered in the course then please give us a ring to discuss. The main subjects covered will be decorating repairs, repairing cracks, replacing taps and tap washers, fixing a washing machine, replacing a door handle, fixing a shelf, replacing cracked tiles, etc.

There is no qualification attached to this course although you will receive a college certificate for achievement.

How you will gain the qualification

The achievement is upon completion of the course, as stated above, the idea is for you to receive the knowledge you require to carry out basic home maintenance in a safe way, the emphasis will be on the skills rather than the qualification.

What qualifications you need

You do not need any qualifications to join this course, you will however, need to have reasonable mobility and motor skills, if you have any concerns on this issue please give us a ring to discuss before hand.
