General information

This programme takes approximately 18 months to complete with flexible start dates. The taught component of the course can be delivered in the workplace or at college, offering a flexible delivery. During this time the apprentice must be employed and working in an appropriate setting in order to achieve the skills and knowledge offered within this framework, which comprises of:

  • NVQ in Supply Chain Management Level 3
  • Certificate in Purchasing and Supply Level 3
  • Functional Skills -- in Maths/English/ICT Level 2

As this is a demanding course, good levels of organisation, commitment and teamwork are required. The apprentice will have a dedicated tutor and assessor to support them for the duration of the course.

Entry requirements

The apprentice must be employed with a contract of employment for a minimum of 30 hours a week and work in a suitable role to demonstrate competence. The apprentice must have a line manager/mentor in the workplace that is committed to both on the job and off the job training and is the liaison person for the college.

Progression

Professional qualifications such as the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) that go up to Level 7.
