Who is this course for? School leavers with learning disabilities who wish to progress onto further college courses and develop skills for training and work but who need a transition period to build confidence, independence and key skills. Students need to be working from Entry Level 1 and will have reading/writing skills (basic sentence construction) and be able to use money. What qualifications or experience do I need ? Prospective candidates need to achieve Entry 1 Level at basic skills including communication,literacy and numeracy. Community Skills Group Tutorial Young Enterprise Skills Communication Information Technology Application of Number Working with Others Improving Own Lerarning and Performance Problem Solving WORK EXPERIENCE How will I be assessed ? Interview,pre-view week, initial diagnostic assessment.All students work towards their own learning goals and ILPs to progress and achieve which is recorded and celebrated through the Edexcel life skills award. What qualifications could I achieve ? Edexcel Life skills at E1. What can the course lead to ? BTEC entry courses, training programmes, resource centres, part-time college courses, Skills-Builder. How do I join the course ? Through Course Leaders Will I need an interview ? Yes and a short assessment.
