L2 Dip Vehicle Valeting

Who is this course for? Those wanting to achieve a qualification and training to become a car valeter. What qualifications or experience do I need ? There are no formal academic entry requirements for becoming a car valet. There is no upper age limit, and many employers recruit older people. What will I study ? Examine the car with the customer before cleaning it to decide what needs doing. Remove any insects and debris from the windscreen and Bodywork. Wash the outside with a cleaning fluid. Clean off the tyres, wheels, wheel-arches and mud flaps rinse, dry, buff and polish the paintwork steam-clean the engine vacuum the inside of the vehicle and shampoo the seats, carpet and lining clean and polish the windows. How will I be assessed ? Practical skills, classroom, written exam/online test What qualifications could I achieve ? The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) offers a Car Valeting Certificate. There is also an NVQ/SVQ Level 1 in Vehicle Maintenance, specific to valeting. What can the course lead to ? Valets may be able to take further training and move into vehicle maintenance and light mechanics. How do I join the course ?
