Who is this course for? This course is for adults who would like to improve their numeracy skills for work, home and further study. You must enrol fully to have a place in the class. What qualifications or experience do I need ? You do not need qualifications to start this course. Your numeracy skills should all be very nearly at the level of the course. You should be able to understand and use English to answer numeracy questions. To find out your numeracy level, you will take the BKSB online assessment (or the BSA paper assessment), What will I study ? Number - including subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals. Measures - including money and , time, metric and imperial lengths, distance, weight and capacity. Simple charts. How will I be assessed ? E2, E3: Assignments in class What qualifications could I achieve ? City & Guilds 3792 Certificate in Adult Numeracy at E2 or E3. What can the course lead to ? Students who successfully complete this course can progress through to the next level, a full time literacy and numeracy course, a vocational course or employment. How do I join the course ? Will I need an interview ? You will have a personal interview to assess your skills and you will receive advice about suitable classes. This may take up to 2 hours.
