FS English L2 for Further Study

Who is this course for? This course is for students who want to improve their literacy skills and are working at L2 and wish to go on and study at a higher level, including Higher Education. You must enrol fully to have a place in the class. What qualifications or experience do I need ? You do not need qualifications to start this course. Your reading, writing and speaking should all be very nearly at the level of the course. To find out your reading and writing level we will give you an assessment, and to find out your speaking and listening level we will have a discussion about literacy with you. What will I study ? Reading, writing, spelling, speaking and listening and group discussion at the levels in the course title. Classes are for 5.5 hours per week. How will I be assessed ? Levels 1 and 2: National Literacy Tests (1hour). What qualifications could I achieve ? City & Guilds 3792 Certificate in Adult Literacy at Level 2. What can the course lead to ? Students can progress to vocational courses, other further education courses including Access , training or employment. How do I join the course ? Will I need an interview ? You will have a personal interview to assess your skills and you will receive advice about suitable classes. This may take up to 2 hours.
