For those who have completed approximately 60 hours of study or one year or have taken
the beginners course at Brent Start or elsewhere.
What will I study?
Vocabulary, grammar, reading, and writing; listening and speaking on a variety of topics– see course book listed below for detail.
How is the course taught?
A variety of creative, modern teaching methods will be used to help you learn aspects of the language. You will be taught to understand and adapt learned language relating to a range of predictable everyday matters, providing that it is spoken clearly and directly. Your pronunciation should be clear and you should be able to maintain a simple conversation using strategies such as asking for clarification or repetition. You should be able to recognise the difference between past, present and future events and be familiar with a few simple verb forms and verb tenses. You are advised to devote 1 and 2 hours a week to self study to ensure progression using websites such as www.bbcactivelanguages.com.
