Who is the course for?
It is suitable for all levels, although basic drawing skills
would be an advantage.
What is your approach?
Sessions will be workshop style with group discussion and some
demonstrations or presentations from the tutor, which will enable
the individuals within the group to either use the techniques that
are being demonstrated or to use their own initiative to follow the
skills that they wish to learn. In this way the classes can be used
by the individual in order to grow in their knowledge or to expand
on the skills and interests that they already have.
One to one feedback will be give during the course. You will review
your own progress through the work produced in your sketchbook and
portfolio.
What can I do next?
If you would like more information about progression
opportunities, please speak to your tutor or other member of
staff.

What will I need?

pad with thick pages or Acrylic pad, or even card board – cereal
box.
Pencil and rubber

medium flat brush
If you really aren’t sure what to buy bring, just bring whatever
brushes you have and the tutor will advise you for the future.
a small selection of Acrylic paints: I suggest you buy some little
tubes of paint, one of red, one of yellow, one of blue, one white
and one black. Sussex Stationers (WH Smiths), The Works and The
Range sell sets of about 10 tubes for under £5, these are fine to
start with. Some can be expensive, just buy the best you can
afford.
a jar for water
a mixing palette (or white plate).
A small quantity of tissue paper or kitchen roll.
Are there any other costs?
Not for this course. If you wish to progress the tutor is more than
happy to discuss materials you may wish to purchase.
