The course aims to teach delegates basic aspects of dealing with emergencies, with an emphasis on those occurring in the workplace. Handling 'life threatening' situations is covered as well as recognising and responding to some of the more common ailments that may be encountered in the workplace.

Suitability

This accredited course does not fully replace the need for the full first aid qualification but has been designed to supplement those who are fully qualified.  It has also been designed to reduce the need for FAW qualified personnel when the numbers of EFAW are increased.  It would suit anyone in a work environment as well as those who simply wish to learn how to carry out Emergency First Aid.

Qualification

In line with recommendations from the HSE, on completion of the course, delegates will receive an Emergency First Aid at work certificate which is valid for 3 years and updated through refresher courses annually.
