The TPMA service from The Learning and Performance Institute (LPI) is transforming the quality of training. Launched in 2008, TPMA is the first industry certification that is focused solely on the needs of the learner. This 2-day course is aimed experienced trainers wishing to renew their Institute Certified Training Practitioner (ICTP) certification.

This course will review the 9 Competencies of the TPMA framework, introduce or refresh the delegate’s existing knowledge of training methodologies and give delegates time to rework their pre-prepared presentations in readiness for their Assessment on day 2.

Overview

This 2-day course is aimed experienced trainers wishing to renew their Institute Certified Training Practitioner (ICTP) certification.

This course will review the 9 Competencies of the TPMA framework, introduce or refresh the delegate’s existing knowledge of training methodologies and give delegates time to rework their pre-prepared presentations in readiness for their Assessment on day 2.

You will benefit from this course if you wish to review the LPI TPMA framework and be re-assessed for renewal of ICTP certification.

Prerequisites

Delegates will need to provide a pre-prepared 15/20 minute presentation, along with all supporting documentation, example files and tutor aids for the Assessment delivery.

Topic Choice

All delegates must prepare all materials required for their 15/20 minute delivery prior to attending this 2-day event so as to reduce the reworking time required during the course.

  • Also, please consider that other delegates on the course can come from a variety of backgrounds and will therefore have different PC experience. QA recommends that the topics chosen are not too technical in nature (i.e. not visual basic scripting) but more simplistic (i.e. tables in Word, charts in Excel, using a search engine in Internet Explorer, etc).

  • It is important to note that non-pc based topics could be delivered however; the topic must be flexible enough to contain a delegate practice section (i.e. not purely a PowerPoint presentation of that topic).

  • Unfortunately, topics for SharePoint and Outlook are difficult to cater for on a mixed topic course in our QA centres as these require specific servers to be provided and so are not recommended topics for delivery.

  • At the start of the course at a QA centre, the Instructor will check which topics delegates have chosen and ensure that the correct software (and MS version – 2003, 2007, 2010) is installed on the PCs for the Assessment.

Delegates will learn how to

  • prepare and deliver a presentation to meet the needs of the learner in keeping with the TPMA framework provided by the LPI.
