Meeting your Agile targets

The Cabinet Office ICT Strategic Implementation Plan has set a target for 50% of projects to use Agile techniques by 2013. The general expectation seems to be that rather than implementing full-blown Agile methodologies, selected Agile techniques can be cherry picked and deliver the same target benefits.

Session One: Agile Techniques or a meaningful Agile methodology?

Having led people and practises at CapGemini, BMW and Gartner, Josef is known for his clear, pragmatic, business lead approach. He has delivered successful Agile adoption strategies for public and private sector organisations. In this presentation Josef will share:

• the real life challenges you will face - management, governance, risk
• the culture change required
• when Agile will work and when it won't
• how to apply Agile in a traditional PRINCE2® environment

Session Two: Case Study - Civil Contingency Secretariat

Keynote speaker: John Harrison, Consultant, Quantum of Value, Ex-Civil Contingency Secretaria

John recently led a project which adopted Scrum late into its lifecycle. As the Product Owner he subsequently turned the outcomes around to deliver the on time and to budget. The NRE was selected as the Olympics common platform for all partner agencies to share information in the run up to and during The Summer Games. John shares how SCRUM helped to manage:

• prioritised requirements from over 400 stakeholder organisations
• delivery by third party service providers
• in challenging circumstances

Session Three: Round Table Discussion

• Facilitated discussion groups will allow delegates to discuss their questions approaches and tactics to address their key challenges.

This session is optional and allows further individual discussion with QA's Subject Matter Experts.
