Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTTLS)

PTLLS is the qualification required for all teachers, trainers and assessors who work in the lifelong learning sector in either an 'associate teaching' or 'full teaching' role.

They will then go on to undertake either the CTLLS or DTLLS qualifications. The participants will need a qualification or experience in the subject area they intend to teach and will need to be able to express themselves orally and in writing.

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

• Plan and teach a session and produce a scheme of work.
• Understand the role of the tutor.
• Understand the training cycle.
• Meet the individual learner needs.
• Use teaching and learning methods.
• Use assessment methods.
• Use evaluation strategies.
