You will also undertake a number of core academic subjects that are designed to prepare you for the demands of higher level study. Our Access to HE courses can be studied within one academic year – up to 450 hours of classtime although some learners may be exempt from parts of the course if you already have GCSEs.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed on the assignments which are set regularly throughout the course. Some of these assignments will be completed under exam conditions but most will be completed in your own time.

You will study a range of modules, some of which are mandatory and some which are optional. These could be:

  • Maths (Level 2)
  • ICT
  • Individual project in business
  • Business
  • History
  • Language studies
  • Law
  • Maths (Level 3)

What does the course lead to?

You could progress to a wide range of business-related HE courses including:

  • Business studies
  • Economics
  • Accounting and finance
  • Marketing

Entry requirements

  • Recent successful study at level 2 in an essay based subject (do not accept Literacy L2 or NVQ)

How much does it cost?

The course fees include registration with CAVA (the awarding body). You may be eligible for remission of fees if you receive state benefits or if the Access course is your first Level 3 qualification.
