Description

The module introduces the various technologies for Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs): programmable, cell based and full custom devices. It then covers the operation of basic CMOS logic gates and important performance parameters such as power dissipation and propagation delay. Practical design exercises are carried out using Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and involving circuit simulation and logic simulation. This module is the normal follow-on to module AMI4202 Microelectronic Design but it can be studied on its own or the pair can be studied in the reverse order.
