Description

Compliance with the European Directives is a legal requirement for products that are used in the EU. Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) are therefore key design issues for electronic based products. This module covers the main aspects of the directives and their impact on the design process. It focuses on technical design issues and uses National Instruments Multisim to simulate circuit performance online in the crucial early stages of the design process. Interpretation of standards to match particular product requirements and the principles of EMC testing methods are important elements of the module.
