Description
This course offers a traditional linear route to Edexcel's GCSE in Mathematics.
The course is aimed at those students who wish to re-sit GCSE Mathematics in order to achieve a higher grade. It is also aimed at mature students who have some basic knowledge of maths and who wish to obtain qualification in the subject.
The course covers the GCSE syllabus for Mathematics Foundation set by Edexcel and includes the following topics:
Integers, fractions, decimals and percentages
Index notation
Ratio and proportion
Algebra
Formulae and expressions
Equations

No interview required
Grade D at GCSE Maths.
Assessment:
Assessment will be carried out as
follows:
Students follow a 36 week programme consisting of formal class
teaching, groupwork, active learning methods, discussion, problem
solving, use of ICT and regular homework.
Candidates undertake two written papers as follows:
Paper 1 (non-calculator) 1.5 hours
Paper 2 (with calculator) 1.5 hours
