This course will include more unusual and advanced cake decorating techniques including:
- Essentials such as run outs, piping etc
- Painting on sugar
- Identifying professional standards
- Designing and costing cakes
- Brush embroidery, string work and stacking.
End Qualification:
There is no specific qualification but a college certificate is available if requested by the tutor.

These targets will include a combination of learning outcomes specified by the tutor and the learners own personal aims and objectives. Learner progress towards all of these targets will be reviewed and recorded in an Individual Learning plan, during and at the end of the course.

other similar or associated courses on successful completion. The
possibilities will be discussed by the tutor at an appropriate
stage. Please be sure to ask your tutor.
It may be possible to progress onto an accredited course either
with the College or other local provider. Advice on possible
progression into accredited provision at the College of West Anglia
is outlined in your learner guide.
Some learners have in the past reached a suitable standard to enter
national competitions entering their work into international
competitions at Excel in London and at the NEC in Birmingham.

You will need to bring along the following
materials at some stage while attending the course:
Apron, cakes, marzipan, boxes, royal icing sugar, apricot jam,
rolling pin, pallet knife, dish cloth, tea towel and washing up
liquid.
The tutor will advise you of when these materials are required.
