CDM 2015 for Designers

The CDM Designer course is a continuation of the CDM 2015 introduction course and will highlight the duties and responsibilities of the Principal Designer and Designers.  

All Designers have an important role in ensuring the co-operation, co-ordination and communication with all other duty holders during their participation on the project. They must assist the Client and Contractors in the realisation of their duties and ensure all parties understand and apply the spirit of CDM 2015.  The Principal Designer and Designers must understand the General Principles of Prevention and how they can be applied during the life of the project.

  • Principal Designer's duties during construction phase:
  • Liaising with Principal Contractor
  • Providing information to all duty-holders as required
  • Designers' duties post construction phase
  • Application of the General Principles of Prevention throughout all planning aspects of the project
  • The contents of the Health and Safety File
  • Sources of information

 

We strongly recommend that students who do not have English as their first language have an ESOL level III certificate.

Course Length: Half a day.
