Hairdressing Diploma Level 2

Who is this course for?

If you would like to gain a basic knowledge of hairdressing and its use in the workplace this course will help you take a major step towards a career in hairdressing.

What will I do on the course?

This is a practical and theoretical course which gives you the opportunity to gain hands on experience in the basic skills required for the hairdressing profession. You will learn:

• Health & safety
• Consultation
• Working in the industry
• Creating an image
• The art of dressing hair
• Colouring hair
• Cutting ladies hair
• Perming

Learners may be required to find suitable clients for some assessments. In addition, you will learn skills that are required in any career choice, including health & safety, confidence building, social and practical skills, and English and Maths. We also offer English and Maths GCSE resits.

What qualifications do I need?

• 4 GCSEs Grade D or above, OR
• Level 1 qualification in a related subject
• Adequate standard of English and Maths
• Mature learners with other qualifications and/or experience are also welcomed
• You should have a strong interest in working in the hair and beauty industry and demonstrate a commitment to succeed

Further Education:

• Hairdressing Level 3
• Level 3 Apprenticeship in a salon

• Mobile Hairdresser

Are there any additional costs?

Learners are required to purchase a basic tool kit and uniform in order to participate in the course. Prices and details will be discussed at interview. Bursary funds may be available to help with additional costs.
