Graduate quote
Amy Tomlinson
“The Fashion Styling course was a great way for me to tap into talents I didn’t even know I had as the course allowed me to explore photography, retouching and editing, as well as hair, make-up and styling. As a result of that I feel confident that I have the knowledge and skills to assist me in getting my dream job in the industry.
“Over the past three years the course has opened up some fantastic opportunities for me. I remember the overwhelming feeling of excitement during a trip to Rome when we were given the opportunity to visit Valentino headquarters. The whole week was jam-packed with visits to some of the most famous Italian fashion houses, as well as lectures with some of the most talented industry professionals in the city.
“Last year I was involved as an editorial assistant for 5th Character magazine which meant organising and creating my own photo shoots to accompany articles. Recently I styled a live shoot staged during the presentation of the Doctorate in Media to Dannii Minogue and got to meet the lady herself!
“Without Solent I wouldn’t have had any of these experiences and I’ve been very lucky to have the support and guidance of lecturers who have all worked in the industry and have inspired me to get out there and carry on being creative.”
