Description

Since an impaired fluid flow in a pump hampers the optimal functioning of the pump, much attention is paid to the concept of flow and friction losses.

Use is made of drawings and films in order to visualize the threated content. Then there is still room for the treatment of the subject cavitation, water hammer and the installation instructions for measurement-and control equipment. This course uses the unique pump table with transparent knees, elbows and tees to visualize the fluid flow. This table is also equipped with vibration measurement.

Learning objectives:

-show the difference between laminar and turbulent flow (Reynolds number)

-explain the notion height of speed

Learning objectives:

-show the difference between laminar and turbulent flow (Reynolds number)

-explain the notion height of speed

-predict what happens with the flow in pipes and fittings

-ways to solve the axial-and radial force in the pump

-calculate the pressure drop in pipes

-understand the importance of a correct pipe system associated with the pumps life-span

-execute viscosity calculations

Intended for:

This course is interesting for anyone who would like to broaden and deepen his or her knowledge in the field of fluid mechanics.

Practice is central in all our courses. Because the teachers work with pump technology on a day to day basis this guarantees a good knowledge exchange.
