Course Details:
Working effectively and safely in an electrotechnical environment: The aim of this unit is to develop the candidates’ ability to identify and work within the parameters set by current health and safety legislation and best practice related to the Electrotechnical Industry.
Principles of electrotechnology: The aim of this unit is to enable the candidate to understand the purpose and fundamental principles of electro technology within the industry.
Application of Health and Safety and Electrical Principles: The aim of this unit is to develop the candidates’ ability to apply safe working practices and electrical principles to the methods of work employed within the industry.
Installation: This unit is concerned with the underlying principles related to electrical installation. It will include the understanding and use of statutory and non-statutory legislation, use of drawings and specifications and types of cabling and equipment used in the industry.
You will be given details of course materials, stationery and the health and safety equipment you will require when you enrol on the programme.
FunctionalSkills in Numeracy and Literacy are included in the Full Time programme along with both Group and one to one tutorials and enrichment activities.
Career Progression:
This Level 2 qualification will enable you to progress onto the City & Guilds 2330 Electrotechnical Certificate Level 3.
