This course consists of the following:
- Developing an understanding of autistic spectrum disorders and the issues to consider when supporting individuals who are affected
- Defining characteristics of autistic spectrum disorders, before reviewing current thinking about possible causes
- Exploring how individuals with autistic spectrum disorders may value and experience life differently to others
- Strategies for effective communication & providing the opportunity to evaluate the workers personal practice
All students need to be working with learners on the autistic spectrum.
