Our British Horse Society Stage 1 training programme gives you a thorough understanding of the basic principles of horse care. It is ideal for those wishing to become professional equestrians, preparing them for working in the equine industry. It is also excellent for those who just want to gain a better understanding of horse care and improve their practical horsemanship skills.
Riding:
- Working to improve balance and security
- Mounting, dismounting and checking tack
- Working both with and without stirrups
- Developing the jumping position
- Working over trot poles
There is an opportunity to take a mock and / or actual BHS exam. Entry to BHS exams should be directly to the British Horse Society via www.bhs.org.uk
Entry Requirements
Enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills. You must be ale to walk, trot and canter unassisted and be able to walk and trot without stirrups. Riding weight limit is 13.5 stones.
