What does the course include?

This course consists of 2 core units and 4 specialist units and all students will be expected to do 3 Functional skills (English, Maths and IT).

Work placements are compulsory and you will be given the opportunity to attend a two 2-week block placements block during the year.

If you do not have a Grade C in English and Maths, you will need to re-sit your GCSE within the year. You are also encouraged to find voluntary work in an appropriate field.

You must also provide satisfatory references and a valid CRB disclosure and POVA/POCA check (cost £42).

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is varied and includes written work, practical work, presentations, group work and projects.

Where does it lead?

This course can lead BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care.

To progress to level 3 you must gain a Distinction, have at least 85% attendance, demonstrated an aptitude for work within a Health and Social Care field and have excellent character references.
