Summary

REACH regulations remain the largest and possibly most complex piece of environmental legislation introduced so far into the European Community.  Since it came into force in 2007, if your company manufactures or imports chemical substances, you will have had an obligation to produce a detailed dossier for each substance and to register it.

The first deadline for registration is 30 November. However, there remains much confusion surrounding the process. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) remains unclear as to the fate of approximately 2000 chemical substances.

The seminar will also examine the Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP Regulation). This runs parallel with REACH and imposes a new notification duty on chemical suppliers and introduces new harmonised warning and precautionary statements for labels, which will replace the existing risk and safety phrases.

The event will help you:

By providing you with an overview of the regulation, together with practical guidance on REACH policy developments and compliance issues.

Who Should Attend?

REACH and CLP impact companies manufacturing, importing or using chemicals. Failure to understand and to respond to the obligations of REACH and CLP could severely affect your business operations.  The seminar seeks to distil much of the murk and gloom that continues to surround this complicated area of legislation and will therefore be relevant to managers with responsibility for the use, supply and/or management of chemicals within the business.
