This course develops and enhances your professionalism in a business context. It develops personal skills alongside knowledge acquisition and its practical application.

This BTEC course is a practical work and business-related course. All units are assessed through written and oral assignments. There are no exams. You ‘learn by doing’, i.e. completing projects and assignments based on real businesses in the area.

Team activities, visits to local businesses, entrepreneur competitions at university, visits to SAID Business School, research tasks, presentations, volunteering opportunities, discussions, debates and work placements are all part of the way you learn.

Successful completion leads to a 90-credit diploma, which is equivalent to 1.5 A-levels. For your reference, the extended diploma that we run - which is two years long - is equivalent to 3 A-levels.

When you leave this course you will also have improved and gained skills in report writing, time management, team working, self-confidence, decision making, ICT and more.

Applicants for a Level 3 programme will normally have:

- at least 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (including some subjects related to the proposed area of study), and/or a completed Level 2 award
- the willingness to study for an additional Level 2 qualification in English and/or maths

If you are interested in a Level 3 programme and have alternative qualifications you would like us to consider, please contact us with your details. Applicants will be invited to attend an interview and complete an initial assessment. All students will have their literacy and numeracy needs supported within the programme.

Successful completion can lead to trainee management positions in business and commerce. You could continue your studies too - just ask us about your options.
