You will be working in the workplace most of the time, earning a wage and gaining practical skills and experience. You will attend college on day release improving your theoretical knowledge, and gaining additional skills and knowledge to be successful at your chosen career. You will develop an understanding of the end to end production cycle of different creative and digital media products, for example audio, visual, and interactive as well as emerging technologies and post production. You will also explore different genres of media including entertainment, drama and news. You may work as a production runner, a production assistant, a digital assistant, an assistant to the camera crew, an editing assistant or as a production secretary. You will need to be ready to work hard, work well in a team and be willing to work your way up the career ladder. You will be able to tailor your learning and experience to the areas you are most interested in, choosing from options such as production, editing, interactive media, audiovisual journalism, camerawork, set design and photo imaging.Key Areas

What next
You may be able to continue working for your employer, or seek other employment opportunities within the industry, in a number of roles including production runner/assistant , broadcast assistant, assistant to camera crew, junior researcher, trainee photographer, or web co-ordinator.
