Chichester is the number 1, outstanding college in Sussex. What
will I Study? The course is divided into three assessed units: F221
- Molecules, Blood and Gas Exchange, F222 - Growth, Development and
Disease and F223 - Practical Skills in Human Biology. These units
cover a wide range of biological concepts including transport
systems, biological molecules, the cell and disease and infection.
How will I be Taught? You will be taught for two sessions a week
within a dedicated lab and lessons will be a mixture of theory and
practical work. You will be expected to read the materials required
for the coming week prior to each lesson in order to better
understand the topic being covered. All presentations and revision
materials are available on the Chi Online course site. How will I
be Assessed? You will have two external exam papers to sit at the
end of the AS year. F221 - one hour paper in May/June F222 - one
and three quarter hour paper in May/June The final practical unit
F223 is assessed in class throughout the year. What our students
say? Human Biology is a really interesting course and I learned so
much about the human body. It is really important that you put in a
lot of effort from the start of the course with revision and exam
practice and the staff really support you to do that. Hard work but
well worth it.
