Course Level: 2 Time NeededStudents are required to attend one day per week. In 2012-13 this is on Tuesdays for Years 10 and 11 students. The hours of attendance are 10am-2.30pm.
Course DescriptionThe aim is to meet the needs of learners who wish to work and develop a career within the sport and active leisure sector. At level 1 Learners will be encouraged to participate in a wide range of sport and active leisure activities. Units include:
- Fitness Testing and Training
- Practical Sport
- Anatomy & Physiology for sport
- Technical skills & Tactical Awareness for Sport
The teaching of these subjects will be a combination of both theory and practical sessions.
Functional Skills
You will also work towards nationally recognised functional
qualifications in English, Maths and ICT.
Assessment strategies will consist of practical observations, written evidence, reports and presentations.
ProgressionSuccessful learners may progress to a full time post 16 Level 3 programme, Apprenticeship or employment.
All progression routes are reliant upon the student reaching
certain levels in Literacy and Numeracy.
