Course Overview
The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering is designed to prepare students for careers at Technician Level in the Mechanical/Manufacturing industry. This course is equivalent to three A-levels. An appropriate level of achievementover all aspects of the course can meet the entry qualifications for some Foundation / Degree courses in Engineering.

Assessment is by practical/written assignments or written test depending on the unit.

Entry Requirements
Applicants to the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering must have four GCSEs at Grade C or above, which must also include Mathematics at Grade C or above or equivalent qualification, ie Essential Skills Level 2 in Numeracy. In some circumstances, applicants with a qualifications profile equating to 12 points with a minimum of three GCSEs at Grade C or above may be accepted.

Where will this course take you
Successful students may progress to study a Foundation Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Foundation Degree in Product Design, a degree course in Engineering (providing relevant grades are achieved). On completion of the course students may gain employment in the Engineering Industry as Technician Engineers.
