Course Overview

The course provides knowledge of the principles of chemistry combined with practical laboratory work and a laboratory-based project which are essential for graduates entering employment. You will learn in state-of-the art laboratories - allowing you the opportunity to use and become familiar with many of the analytical tools commonly used within industry and scientific research. Assessment of all units will be carried out through a variety of methods including project and assignment work.

Entry Requirements
Requirements are pre-defined by the College’s admission criteria. In addition, applicants should possess a Level 3 qualification in a Chemistry related subject. Please note that the minimum tariff accepted for this course in previous academic years was 200 UCAS points.

Where will this course take you
The course will give you the opportunity to top up your studies at university to gain a full honours degree in Chemistry or an Applied Science subject. It will also give you the skills to progress to employment within the chemical technology sector. Achievement of the HND in Applied Chemistry will enable students to apply for Affiliate membership of the Royal Society of Chemistry and with additional work experience, progression to Associate membership.
