Course Overview
This two year full time course provides an education foundation for a range of careers in biological/biomedical sciences. The course is a well-balanced mixture of theory and practical laboratory sessions which are complemented by visits to specialisedocations and field courses. You will study a range of core and specialist units including Employability Skills. Assessment of all units will be via project and written assignment work.

There are sixteen modules in total which cover theory and practice in a variety of disciplines such as:

Students are also required to complete extensive independent study.

Entry Requirements
Requirements are pre-defined by the College’s admission criteria. In addition, applicants should possess a Level 3 qualification in a Biology related subject. Please note that the minimum tariff accepted for this course in previous academic years was 200 UCAS points.

Where will this course take you
This course is particularly suitable for you if you are interested in studying Applied Biology or related subjects at university or wish to succeed in employment in biologically-based industries. The HND in Applied Biology course allows graduates to apply to become Associates of the Society of Biology, and with two years’ post graduate experience, to apply for Charter Registration.
